How big will fit?

Hey guys I have a 98 f150 4x4. 100% stock suspension, have not touched it. Just bought some American Racing Bajas to go on. Now what I want to know is how big a tire can i clear? Will a 285 or 33 in. tire fit without rubbing? If not if i cranked the torsion bars will it? If not go down to 265's?

you should clear 33's with no problem, honestly imo i would crank the torsion bars just a tad to level it, but no more than that. i've seen people crank them all the way and add a block in the rear and squeeze 35's but its a tight fit. also, you might want to even look into the 305's if you like a wider tire. if you have 16" wheels id go with 285/75/16 or 305/70/16 or the 33x12.50, if 17" wheels id go with 285/70 or 305/70.... i saw a set of 305/70/17's on one like yours and it looked mean! but the 305's will rub a little, but nothing a pair of 1/4" wheel spacers wont fix. (do note that wheel spacers may cause your truck to ride a little rough becuase they are not perfectly balanced... at least mine did)

Yes, you can easily fit a 285/75-16 (33x11.50) or a 305/70-16 (33x12.50). If your wheels are 16x10's you will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. I'd recommend staying away from wheel spacers.

My set up is stock also. My rims are 16x8 as well. I fit 285 75 16 no problem, no rub whatsoever. I cranked the torsion bars just to level it out but had no problems at all before I did the cranking. Check out my pic in my gallery to give you an idea of how it would look. The pic with the truck facing left(darker pic) is without being cranked. The other brighter pic facing right is after the bars were cranked. Hope this helps.

No, you may not have to trim at all with 16x8's.

Stay away from cranking the torsions too much. If you do, that will cause excessive wear on your front end components, and in many situations, lead to a very expensive repair bill.
