Question Oversized Tires (Nitto's)

So i had new tires installed last Thursday at a local shop (Nitto Terra Grappler) but with one problem that i didn't notice until next day after i left out of town for 3 days:

The tires the shop installed were bigger then the tires I had on my truck even when I gave him the size like 3 times! The ones i had were 325/60/18 the ones he installed are 325/65/18; I didn't realize this until i noticed that when parking or doing a u-turn tires were hitting to much and i didn't remember them hitting before. I get off, check the size and sure enough they were bigger. I just called the shop today and told him he gave me the wrong size, of coarse he denied and said thats what he wrote down but did say "Bring the truck in ill trim."

What exactly does that involve? Would you recommend that? Did he mean trim truck or tire?

F.Y.I. I do have a 2.5" leveling kit. The tires are awesome, soft and quiet. Just hope that by actually doing the rotating right and keeping up to date they last longer. The last ones only lasted 30,000?! But i know i didn't keep them well maintained.

he is gonna trim your plastic and what ever else can be moved out of the way to keep the tires from rubbing. You cant trim rubber lol. but it aint gonna kill your truck to trim it. a lot of people do it.

You had a 33" tire and he put a 35" tire on there, definately a difference there. Trimming stuff on the truck is fine to do, just like smitty08 said alot of people have to trim stuff when they put bigger tires on.

The 65 series isn't going to handle as well as a 60 series would. That's what would make me angry, but the 65 will make your truck sit slightly higher then 60's so maybe you like that.

If you have an aggressive driving style, 30,000 miles isn't bad. I have the terra grapplers too and they're a good tire, except I wish they did better in the rain.

Well two things..
One is you went from a 33" tire to a 35" tire so your going to have a speedo that is off a bit, and your mpg probably will go down alittle.

Second thing is I bet it looks sweet with the 35" on it!!

If I were you, I would make the shop give you the difference in price between the two tires and trim your own truck. I'm sure those 35" were more then the 33" you wanted. It will cost them alot of money and time to get you the 33" on your truck and take back the now used 35" so you have the upper hand. Just tell them you are not happy with them trimming your truck and you want them to give you the money difference back.

Post some pics of your truck now, I'd love to see it!

Going from a 33 to a 35" tire is a big jump. Get ready for some loss of gas mileage and wear and tear on your tranny and brakes. Also those tires will require a lot of trimming and may still rub. Truck's performance will suffer also.
