Why can't I bring myself to like black wheels????

Here's a pic of my truck with about the only black wheels I actually like. I just don't know if I like them on my truck.

I think first off black/chrome/polished wheels are all personal preference so I can see why you might not like them. However, I think some vehicle setups and colors accommodate different wheels better than others. In my case I have a blue truck with the tan two tone trim and I cant find a wheel that I think would look better than factory on it. Maybe if I saw some pics with different wheels on my setup I would change my mind. In your case, you have red with a gunmetal or gray trim so the only thing that contrast with the black is your door handles and your tinted windows. I don't think it looks bad at all, but I can see where you could be getting your mixed emotions. Those rims on a solid black or red truck would look even better (sorry not bashing). Unfortunately I believe when you buy a truck you need to plan ahead for some mods if you want them to really fit in. There is always the option to paint your vehicle but that's unnecessary and costly. Regardless you do have a good looking truck

I'm with you bud. I am a chrome guy with some polished silver wheels thrown in occasionally. Sometimes I see some black wheels that look decent but they don't do much for me. Sometimes I see wheels that are way overdone and everyone has them. To me, that doesn't look good at all. I hate overly blingy wheels as our trucks are not gangsta truck to begin with. The wheel needs to compliment the vehicle regardless of what make/model it is. IMO, I think some people just buy wheels to have black, chrome, polished ect and do not pay attention to the style. Those that take the time to get something unique and make sure the wheel fits the look of the truck are usually the ones that have some of the best looking rides around. I am on the hunt for 20" wheels for my truck and as much as I like the saleens they just don't seem practical for me right now. I still want to keep my mileage. I love the OEM 20's in chrome (Seen them on ebay) with the stock size tires so something like that is for me. Wheels are funny, you wither like them or you don't and I've seen them ruin a vehicle or make it. Just keep your eye out for something that catches your eye. I think your PS looks good with those wheels. The other thing to remember is the black wheels, like any wheel looks much better in person becuase you can see the various angles and indents and protrusions much better. I would be curious of that wheel in a 20" with slightly larger tires like a BFG AT with the White letters out. Good luck dude

So many of the black wheels have the fake screws etc around the edge. I don't like all the little junk they add to the black wheels. Maybe a chrome edge and center, but no fake screw heads.

I think I'm only a fan of black wheels on white or black trucks.

It seems to flow good with those two colors good.

Most of the other colored truck's I've seen with black wheels didn' look as good.

Not all but most.

Like I said not all.

I think black wheels look sweet on pmason's truck.

Not sure why. It just seems to work well.

I have black mirrors, door handles, toolbox and around the fenders. I think it the rims fit my truck because they are off road steel rims. I hate bling too.

Yes, I agree that look good on his. But I think it's the wheel itself as BlueJay said. Those Saleens would look good purple.

And, when I said I can't bring myself to like black wheels, I meant black wheels on my truck. There's plenty on trucks on here that look outstanding with black wheels.

I almost think a DSG wheel that matches my lower would look better.

as Mblouir mentioned awhile ago , i think the allen heads/screws add a nice "pop" to black wheels

to each his own,

I think the best thing to do, is to Photoshop the wheels on your truck before everything,

speaking about Black wheels, am myself is a Hardcore Black lover, and I have a Dark wheels on my other Daily Drive, After photoshoping some Black wheels on my truck, I was "ah man, that's terrible!!"
I'm Totally against Chrome/Polished (sorry guys) and I had never ever loved blingy wheels, but once out of boredom after photoshoping some wheels on my truck, I came across some chrome wheels, and the result was "MAN! that's pure Sex!!!!"

Example:

can't wait to lift mine

Again, to each his own, maybe that's me only...
