Question about 18" Lightning wheels
Hello everyone, Long time reader first time poster. My uncle is giving me the stock 18" wheels of his lightning, the wheels are in perfect shape and the tires have 75% tread. (He claims they ride to rough for him) Anyways my question is I have a 2003 F150 supercab, I was wondering what size of tire will fit on these rims and my truck still look ok at stock height. I have 285/50r20's on my truck now. (my 20's are in really bad shape, this is the cause for change, and i can't pass up free wheels and tires)

I checked a tire size calculator and the 295/55r18 are really close to the height of the tires i have on the truck now.(285/50r20) The 20" wheels are pretty much ruined, one of them the chrome is peeling and the others are getting pitted bad. I just don't want my truck to look like I am riding on golf cart tires that's all.

The wheels are 2003, after further talking to my uncle it is not a true lightning, but the wheels are. The truck was given to my uncle after his brother in law passed away, and his brother in law ordered the wheels to put on the truck. I looked up a 2003 lightning on google and they are the same wheels with the SVT logo in the middle. He said they rubbed a little but not enough to worry about.

tarajerame mine are the 2001 style, and are technically aftermarket reps since they are chrome, and had no rubbing problem on th inner lip of the wheel
to the op if your wheels are OEM then youll probably need the steering locks, otherwise you could screw up the rims
also if you go to a tire shop, when they ask what car you have tell them you have a REGULAR F150 but youre using the Lightning wheels and that the stock size is 245/95/18 and that you want a taller tire than that.

You should be able to get them from most any tire store or parts store. They will come in a set of four, with a key. You use one on each wheel, in place of one of the lug nuts. Just make sure they are for you size of lug, and they should be about $20 a set.

I know about them, but what are the ones to keep the wheels from scrubbing?

Hey Bluejay, I should have made myself more clear, I called the Ford dealership and they had no idea what I was talking about in reference to turning locks. My 20's I have on now scrub a little on the drivers side frame but nothing major, They are 20x10 and are inset a bit, ? Guess i will try them out and see how they fit.
