Gonna change my pads

Hey guys its about time to change the pads on my 07 F150.

I have done several brake jobs on the 1500 chevy but never a Ford.

Is there anything I need to watch out for or do special?

Also is there anything I need to grease while I am in there?

Changed the rotors and pads on my fronts about 2 months ago and it was pretty straight forward. First brake job i had done myself and it seemed easy. Just grease up the slides and use anti-seize on the bolts and you should be good to go.

If it is the same as my 06 2wd F-150 the spindle nut torque is 290 ft lbs. Its not easy finding a wrench that goes that high in just anybodys toolbox.

There's no need to touch the spindle nut if you're just doing pads.

Don't get Motorcraft pads. Many of us got rid of the Motorcrafts because of the brake dust. Go to the local parts store or order on line, Wagner ThermoQuiets. No dust, much longer life and no noise.

These wont damage my rotors or affect anything else? I just like OE parts for some reason. But if yall can vouch for them I will try. How much is the life extended by?

I have had the Wagners for 4 years, 80,000 miles. I expect to get about 100,000 out of them. They are semi-metallic, just like the OEM, but much higher quality. Use the Search button above, go to "advanced search", enter Wagner ThermoQuiets and you should find plenty to read.
