BFG A/T KO vs. Pro Comp Xtreme A/T

I can't decide between these two tires (305/65/17). If money wasn't a factor what would be the best tire? I hear good and bad about the pro comps as far as noise and ride. I know the BFG is "top of the line", but I really like the look of the pro comp.

Has anybody gotten the pro comps and had bad luck with them?

From what I hear both are great tires, a friend of mine has the ProComps and says he'll never run anything else. I on the other hand have run BFG for the last twenty years and never had one fail me. For what they cost go with what you can afford.

Both are excellent. Supposedly the PC's will perform better in mud than most AT's but the BFG's will probably last a little longer.

i have the pro comps and they have lasted about 40,000 and they dont have much road noise at all. Not great in the mud, but thats expected from an AT tire.

I like the BFGs, one of my buddies has to be pushing 60-65k+ out of a set of 285/75/16. He has put them in some pretty nasty stuff and come out. However, I would not pick an AT on how well it does in the mud, I would consider longevity, ride quality, and handling in ALL conditions.

I had two different sets of BFGs get 60k+ on my 96 f150. Since the first set I never considered anything else..........until I pictured the Xtreme Ats on my 04. Thanks for starting this thread. The BFGs seemed to keep road traction right up until the end. Infact I only took them off each time because I found a good deal on a new set and I new it would be time to change soon. I live on the TN/VA border and run up and down the mnts. We do'n get much snow anymore but we get slushy, icey road regularly. I was curious if anyone thought the X ATs felt squirely like MTs on slick roads.

Pro Comp's may look better but the BFG's will outlast them by maybe 20k miles.

Thanks for everyone's input. I decided to go with the BFG's. I will post some pics when I get the tire installed this weekend.
