time for the 3rd set of sneakers

Can I start by saying that I think the stock 18" rugged trails perform great on road and in the snow. I also think that they are horrible off road. I have come to realize that I dont drive off road much at all. So....

I like the BFG KO (10 ply) and the rugged trails but this time around I want something a little (yes, little) bigger. I tow some and drive almost all highway. I would like a long lasting tire that is great in snow and on highway.

I just cannot bring myself to put bigger wheels and street tires on it. I like my truck to be a truck, not a whip. I am also considering 5100 to get close to level and an air spring system to keep it level when a 20' tandem axel trailer is loaded and on.

I am looking for a mild A/T tire, a little larger than stock and I would like to read all of your suggestions.

Thanks Tommy

Nitto Terra Grappler, Prop Comp Extreme A/T, Goodyear Silent Armor, just to name a few good all terrain tires.

The BFG AT KO's will easily last 60,000 miles.

Maybe a 285x65x18 (33") or a 305x65x18 (34") BFG TA/KO all terrain on the stock wheel's. Also should last 60 to 80k miles if taken care of.

What a push from a couple serious f150 guys for the bfgs. I like them and I guess I could live with the cost if I can get 80k (highway) miles out of them. I read some where about weak side walls and the nitto having a tough side wall. This may help me because I drive into curbs all the time (especially downtown parking)

Are all the bfg at ko 10 ply?

The AT KO's have one of the toughest sidewalls of any radial.
