Rubbing Issues question

What is the typical reason for tire rubbing? Is it the Tire Width or the Overall Diameter? Typically, where is the trimming needed and whats the best way to accomplish that?

Both, plus the width and backspacing of the wheel.

Thanks for the response. i have another question I am sure has been asked a million times, I just have not found an example by seeing other posts or photos. I am about to put a 2in level on a 2wd. I am looking to get a 275/60R20 but am interested in the Duratrac 285/60/20. I wondered if they would fit without any issues on stock rims. Will that extra 1/2 inch taller fit, its 33 vs 33.5? Should I even bother with a test fit or stick with the 275/60/20?

I think you will be fine with the 285/60-20's using the OEM wheels and a leveling kit.
