Rear Calipers....should they wiggle?

I was replacing the wheels today and noticed that the rear calipers were a little loose. I could wiggle the housing about 1/8 of an inch on both sides. Is that normal? Should there be a little bit of movement? I do notice that the brakes do make some funny noises when coming to a stop from the rear.

Please help If anyone knows!

Thanks

Calipers

I believe both front and rear calipers should be able to move so that as the brakepads wear that they're able to move to keep it centered on the rotor. Now whether you have an excessive amount of play or not, if you can't rock them I'd guess they're probably ok. The question though is unless you compressed the pads in the caliper, they should be relatively tight against the rotor, if they aren't: then why?
