Help !!! Damn !!

My dad changed my front brakes a few weeks ago. Ever since he has done this, when I hit the brakes, the right side feels like it vibrates very hard. It does so-so bad, it will rattle things in the vehicle in the cup holders, yourself (haha) and etc. There is no pulling that I notice. It vibrates, stops, vibrates, stops, until of course the vehicle is stopped. Seemingly it vibrates when the ABS brakes clench the disk and stop vibrating when released and repeats. This is what it seems to be doing to me. I of course am no brake expert and am probably wrong. Now my parking brake light is on, which I understand doubles as a brake problem indicator.

I have asked a few other people in which they mentioned brakes have "shims" and my dad may have not put the shims back in place between the brake pad and caliper. Could this be it? I hope so as it seems like an easy fix.

But from my understanding shims are more noise reducers and wouldnt cause such a problem as this vibration.

I am hoping to resolve this today, As I bought new brake pads, shims, and am hoping to get a response by this afternoon.

Fluid is new, is clear, is topped off. The brakes work perfect as far as stopping, it just has the ridiculous damn vibrating which comes in "waves".

Thanks guys.

MoshNet, He either over torqued the lugs or your rotors are worped!

How can you tell if your Rotors are warped if they are only slightly? I can obviously see a profuse bending or warping of the metal, but are there any specific at garage tests? Also, how much do rotors normally run at autozone and places like that?

Thanks..

MoshNet, There is no way really to home test unless you have a true rotating surface to mount your rotors too and with a dial indicator you can check to see how much there worped. I just have always been told that when you step on the brakes and the steering wheel pulsates that there is a issue with brake rotors. Try breaking loose your lug nuts and retorque them with a 1/2" torque wrench to the specs in your owners manual before having your rotors machined or buying new ones. And you can get new rotors that are worped already. Had to return 2 sets of rotors one day before I got a good set.
