Question HELP ME CHOOSE!!!! RoCkStArS or MoNsTeRs?!?!?!?!

I've decided on either the ROCKSTARS or the MONSTERS for my 09 F150 REG CAB SHORT BED. Leaning towards 20s, but dont want them to look to big and gawty. Opinions on 18s vs 20s?? I don't think I have ever scene a REG CAB SHORT BED with 20s. Anyone know of any pics?? Also, ROCKSTARS or MONSTERS?!?!?! Such a hard choice. Definitely going with MUD GRAPPLER 33x12.5x18-20 tires. Thanks for the input guys!

the TRUCK

the ROCKSTAR

the MONSTER

I was going to say definitely the Monsters, but your single cab blue truck could actually pull off the Rockstars quite well. So my vote goes to 20" Rockstars.

20" will look perfect.

Are you going to lift or level the truck? The rockstars will stick out about 3/4" further than the monster, if that matters to you. The back spacing on a 18x9" rockstar is 5" and the bs on the same size monster is 5.71". Most members say the Mud Grapplers are louder and have a shorter pavment life than Toyos or BFGs.

I have the black Rockstars and I really like them. Here is how far they stick out on a 2007 FX4 with 33x12.5 Toyo MTs. I am pretty sure it will be the same on a 2009.

im most likely going for the 20s over the 18s. Which offset will stick out more?? +10 and 5.14 backspace or +35 and 6.13 backspace?? I am looking for a wider than stock stance. I want the one that sticks out further.

NM, they only make 6x135mm in the +35 and 6.13 backspace. Will this still stick out further than stock??

It depends on the width of the new wheel. Factory 17s and 18s are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of BS and 20s are 8.5 inches wide with 6.5 inches of BS. This means the factory wheels have 2" of rim sticking out between the back of where the wheel mounts and the outer edge.

A 9" wheel with 6.13 inches of BS has 2.87 of rim and they will be about 3/4" further out than the stock wheels. (2.87 minus 2) A 10" wide wheel with the same BS will stick 1 3/4" due to the wider wheel. My rockstars are 9" wide minus the 5" of BS which equals 4", so they stick out 2" further than factory wheels. (4 minus 2)

There are several on here who have the 9" wide XD Monsters which have 5.71 inches of BS and they look great. DarrenWS6 has posted some pictures recently of his truck and how far they stick out

Not a whole lot, it will actually be quite close to stock. You might not want a 12.5" tire then because with my +18 offset / 5.71 backspace on my 2" leveled 4wd my upper arms are closer than 1/4" to rubbing, so with a wheel with a close to OEM backspace you may want a thinner tire size.

And this is how far my tires stick out.

I say get some 20" rockstars with some toyos m/t, mud grapplers suck, yeah they look badass, but for the money you pay for them, your not gonna get your moneys worth, especially if all you do is drive on road.

I'd go with 18 inch Monsters and 33's personally.
