Stock Rims/Tires and a Pro Comp Lift

I have a LONG road trip coming up in the F150, and I really don't want to listen to my mud tires hum the entire time. A friend of mine has an '05 Expedition with aftermarket rims, and has offered to let me use his stock rims and tires for my trip. The problem is, I am running a 6" Pro Comp lift on my '06 F150 and am not sure if I can use stock rims or not. I'd hate to drive all the way to his place, borrow the rims only to find they don't clear my lift components.

My truck
'06 F150 4x4 with a Pro Comp Stage 1 lift kit.

His rims
'05 Expedition 17" rims with 275/75/17 tires mounted on them

I know the bolt pattern and all of that stuff is compatible, but the OEM rims might have too much back spacing. Can anyone confirm that the OEM rims will or will not work with the Pro Comp lift on my truck? I don't want to listen to my tires for that long, but at the same time I don't want drive all the way to his place for something that won't work. He lives a solid 2 hours from me.

Supposedly the OEM F-150 and Expy wheels have too much backspacing, which is 5.5 inches, to work with a Pro COmp lift. However, I seem to recall that some members have said they could run the OEM wheels as long as the tires were not overly wide.

I guess a better idea is for me to mount the OEM spare tire first to see if it clears. If it does, can I safely assume that other factory rims will fit as well (given similar tire sizes)?

dunno if this helps.. but I drove around with the Stage 1 lift for about 2-3 days on the stock 20" wheels and tires while I was waiting for my Toyos to come in.

It looked more awkward than anything else, I don't recall there being any issues with rubbing or fitment..
