Removing center caps

My 2007 F-150 has the 17" aluminum wheels with painted accents. They have a plastic center cap with a slot on the side for removing. It takes quite a bit of force to get it off, and is real easy to chip or scratch that slot. Can anyone suggest a tool that will pry off those caps without messing them up?

Your OEM wrench provided with the jack.. Theres a rubber sleeve on it, insert it into the slot and twist it sideways, once it pops up put it down a little and pull it outward, pop it comes off.
