Look just like the old GoodYear Wrangler MTR. If they hold up I think they would be a pretty good tire.....good luck.

according to a few sites ive seen, and the company's vid of moab they should be ok. but as with any retread keep an eye on pressure.

what got me was theyre not made like normal retreads, they molded like new tires are. pretty interesting stuff.

I like the tread pattern and the price is great. The fact that they are retreads makes me nervous but I liked what I read about them. Try them out and let us know what you think.

Off road rock crawling at slow speeds is one thing, but there is now way I would run something like that on the highway where a blowout is often dangerous. I don't care what super secret process they use, a recap is still a recap.

additionaly, with the crushed glass and crushed almond blended into the tire, (similar to green diamonds it sounds) do you all think these will perform reasonably well in snow? theyre only 285/70/17 so not terribly wide. Ice nothing really does well but these are pretty decently sipped, as far as i can tell.

blowouts on recaps happen at highway speeds because someone did not keep up on air pressure or the tractor trailer company has a bad maintenance program. Recaps are recaps yes, but from everything ive read the tractor trailer recaps are made very differently than the ones sold from this company.

I think im just gonna order one so I have a 35" spare tire. Having the stock size on me worries me a little bit right now till I get a replacement.
Edit: Just realized they dont have 35's but for people wiht 33's is a really cheap option for a full spare.

Law

You may want to check local and state law. Some states don't allow recaps on the front (steering axle).

I'm not going to get into a you know what match on a f150 forum, but recaps have a high probability of coming apart. They will never have the durability of a virgin casing.

There is a big difference between running recaps on a 6x4 tractor with 10 tires then a 4x4 pickup with only 4 tires(where a blowout is a lot scarier).

Take it for what you wish, but the price savings isn't worth the risk on a vehicle operated on the highway imo.

x2........sorry if this isn't what you wanna hear but you asked opinions. Personally, my life is worth more to me than saving a couple hundred bucks. A recap tire just can't be as good as a new tire saftey wise.
I'll tell you what man...look in to the kumho kl78....on this site in your size there $142 a piece..http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Road+Venture+AT +KL78&partnum=87QR7KL788......$16 more for some piece of mind.here is a pic of mine...

If you have to have a mud terrain then i don't kno what to tell you....you'll have to spend a little more....i think the kl71 mt on tirerack.com are like 181 in your size good luck!
