Arrow 35" Nitto Trail Grapps w/ 18" Rockstars w/ 2.5" Level, 4x4 (Final Request)

Wandell, please don't kill me.

Before I make a purchase for such a large amount of money, I need someone to tell me exactly what to get. Unfortunately, I've gotten about 11 different sets of specs. Hopefully this thread will settle that. Below is the tire/rim combo I'd like to get:

I have an 04 FX4 with a 2.5" Level in the front.

How would I fill in the blanks (BS, Offset, etc), when I order, so that I am getting a setup that will not rub? I no longer care if it sticks out an inch or two.

Thank you guys for your time,
Anthony (Auto-Idiot)

P.S. If anyone likes that picture, here's where I found it:

I seem to remember a member here fitting 35x12.50's using the 8.5 inch Rockstars with like 6 inches of backspacing. Personally, I think a wider wheel with 33's would look better with just a leveling kit.

On that website it does say that particular wheel fits fords man. You need to make sure the bolt pattern is a 6x135.

As for wheel size, my dad has a 285-75-18 on stock rims. They work out to a 35x11x18. You will have alot of trimming to do on a 35x12.5 with 0 offset.... Might not even clear the outer fender roll. My 33x12.5 with a -12mm offset rim barely fit.

See, that's where things get confusing. Other people are running 35" tires w/o rubbing with just a level and all of their backspacing and such is different. This is why I am confused.

Ummm... I'm selling that exact set up. I have about 500 miles on the tires and am asking $1650... Not sure what shipping would be like but if you're interested let me know.
Sorry for thread jacking.
Wandell is right, as usual, there are a bunch of guys that put 35's on with a 2.5'' level but had to do some trimming.
These tires are sweet but they run thin like a BFG. Just my two cents.

Well, where would I need to trim?

Do you have any rubbing GD? What do you mean by "running thin" ?

Thanks guys,
Anthony

i have 35x12.5x17 BFG MT on 17x9 rims with the backspacing 5.71 and offset I believe is 18mm. The only place it has rubbed is when you go in reverse almost full lock on the lower black piece, I dont know what that is called, only have 300 miles on them. I have seen that setup on several around where im from.

These are some of the other specs I've been told:

18x9, 6 on135 Bolt Pattern
Backspace 5.00 in.
Offset = 0 mm

12mm offset

Size: 20 x 9
Bolt Circle: 6x135/6x139.7
Offset: +18
Backside Setting: 5.71

17x10 with 4.5'' BS and -25 offset

Thanks. www.boondockbumpers.com

I like your rims, they have a tank'ish look to them on the truck. Can you take a higher res picture of the side of your truck anytime soon?

Here is a pic of the issues you face with running a higher negative offset and your rub area issues. Only way to combat these is with more lift.

If running a 12.5" wide tire, I would suggest a 9" rim with a (positive) 18mm offset, Should be a 5.71" backspacing as suggested before.

As i said before, with my 9" wheel (negative) -12mm offset (4.5" BS) and a 33x12.5 tire, I have rub issues in the locations noted in my pictures from this rotational travel issue.

I wouldn't have to worry about the rubbing in the front. Would that affect the offset I'd choose?

I think the Rockstar 18" wheels only come with the 5.0 backspacing with the bolt pattern you need. I have the Rockstars with Terra nitto grapplers and I only have slight rubbing while in reverse at full lock. Did not require any cutting on a 2008 f150 2wd with a 2" as leveling kit. Wandell gave me good advice, that is, pick the wheel and tire package that you want and make it work, a little cutting isn't a big deal. I think your issue is more with the tire width that you choose instead of which wheel.

You fit 35" tires on a 2wd vehicle?

I had to trim the lower plastic valance on the front bumper... which you dont have... and my steps... which you dont have... LOL! I'm guessing you'll be in good shape with no trimming required.
