big brake kit ?

Good Evening Gentlemen,

I have a 2000 ford f150 4x4, with 420 horse power at the wheel, that I use daily for work. I’m in the market for a big brake kit. I like the Brimbo kit , but of course the price is kinda high. I was looking at the force 10 SSBC brake kit. But living in NYC I need All the braking power that I can get I
Any recommendations?

What are your reasons for the kit? Horsepower doesn't mean anything as far as stopping power goes, unless you are racing or otherwise driving at excessive speeds. But for a few hundred bucks, you can pick up a set of EBC USR Rotors and Yellow Stuff brake pads and significantly increase your braking force without breaking the bank.

do you have 18" or larger wheels?
you could always find a wrecked superduty at a salvage yard and buy the calipers, rotors, and brackets. Lightnings come with superduty brakes from the factory

Thank you for the response,I currently have 22 wheels with ceramic brake pads from auto zone and some substantial weight in the bed, I definitely have some issue stopping
I thinking SSBC big brake kit with some new rotters in the rear and some high performance brake pads will do
Any suggestion would be appreciated
The end result I would definitely let you guys know so we can all learn
Thanks in advance

Stoptech.com has a good product that isn't at Brembo price point. Try braided lines and a non ceramic pad as well. Some companies make caliper relocation brackets that move the stock caliper (and the leverage point) out and when used with a bigger rotor work much better than OE without spending thousands. We don't carry anything but the Brembo GT kits.
