I was wondering whats the biggest size I can use on a factory 16x7 rim? I have 245/70/16 I want to put some mud tires on there.

Yea assuming 4x4, 285/75/16 would look good. If you wanna go a little bigger you can crank your torsion bars up. Let us know what you would like to do.

The biggest size you can fit with the stock rims on a stock truck is some 285/75r16's. Here's a link to my thread where I got my 33's. Now granted, my truck is a 2wd. But I think it still looks good. I think that those tires would look perfect on a 4x4 with the t-bars cranked. If you need any more info, pm me or post it up here. This site is an excellent resource for f150's.

i saw a truck i think it had 317 75 16's on it the other day.. I want to lift it up some cause im tired of the hog head dragging in ruts when i go hunting and i get stuck. I have 245 70 16's on there now. How do i tighten the tortion bar for lift and how much lift can i get by doing that I guess all i need is lift blocks for couple inches in the back am i correct?

If you turn the bars it will level the truck's front end with the rear so no need for blocks in the rear

yeah just crank up the torsion bars, get an alignment afterwards, and throw some 285/75/16 on there itll look good and get you more places than those 245s lol

Yes, you can fit a 315/75-16 (35x12.50) using your OEM wheels with some minor rubbing on the frame at full steering lock. However, if you ever buy wider aftermarket wheels, you will have to lift the truck to fit them. If you are gonna keep the OEM wheels forever, a 295/75-16 (34x12.00) would be a good size.

I have a 1999 F150 4X4 with 265/70 17's on stock rims. I have a set of 315/75-16 from a previous truck I had. I wanted to put them on my Truck. I am going to buy the torsion keys to level the truck (any suggestions on what brand torsion keys to buy?) Will the 315/75-16 fit? What rim backspacing would I need for this all to work. I want to buy Black Pro Comp 7289 (To match my other truck) but don't know what Rim width / Backspacing I need. So if anyone has any ideas please let me know. This is my first F150 and I love the truck!!!

Do not get aftermarket torsion bar adjustment keys. THey have to be the worst product ever made. If you go with an aftermarket wheel, you are gonna need to install a full suspension lift, or at least a 3 inch body lift and crank up the torsion bars to fit 35's. I'd go with a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of BS, like I have.

Thank you so much for responding. If I crank up the Torsion Bars and don't put any lift on it, but get 17inch aftermarket rims- what width/Backspacing would I need. I really don't 10inch rims, maybe 8.5 or 9 inch. Also what would be the biggest tire I could fit with that combo? Thank you so much for responding!! I really don't know anything about F150's and I have been searching the posts for hours, but I just get more confused. I really want to get the Black Pro Comp 7289 rims.

OK, I got some more details on the Rims that I want. I can get 16X8 BS 4.5 Offset 0 and use my 315/75-16's (That I already have) Crank up my torrion Bars and put a body lift on. Or my other options is 17X8 BS 4.5 Offset 0 or 17X9 BS 4.75 Offset 6mm crank up the torrion bars and No body lift and put whatever size tires fit. I think the less expensive way would to be to use the tires that I already have. What do you think Wandell?

A 315/75-16 may fit using a 16x8 inch wheelw ith 4.5 inches of BS with minor rubbing. If you are not gonna lift the truck, I'd go with a 33 inch tire like a 305/70-16 (33x12.50) or 285/70-17 (33x11.50), etc.

I cranked up the tossion bars tonight, the truck sits level now. I am going to put a 3inch body lift on it. So I am hoping the 315/75-16 work with the 16X8 BS 4.5 work.
