Help...Mixed Info

I have an 06 FX4 with a 2.5 inch leveling kit. I have BFG 305/65-R18's on stock wheels. I have read and seen pics on this board numerous times of guys putting 35/12.50/18 tires on OEM wheels. Yet when I called Discount tire, 4 wheel, etc.; they said they have tried, but it won't work. One said to do that I would need to lift the truck 6". Hey, that would be great; but all I am trying to do is buy some more tires a little bigger. Any suggestions & will it truly work.

The guy gave you some misinformation. Several member here have done it. ALso, keep in mind that "fits" means different thing to different people. To some it's means an inch of clearance all around the tire throughout the suspension and steering cycles while to others "fits" means they didn't have to cut out too much of the fender with a sawsall. As dozens of member here have posted, a 35x12.50 will fit but it will rub the control arms slightly at full steering locks. Now, does that meet your defination of "fits"?
