Goodyear MTR W/ Kevlar

Is there anyone out there running these tires? I see alot of Toyo's, Nitto, & BFG, but nothing on the new Goodyear.

Any thoughts?

Nobody is running this tire? Really.

Somebody has to have put these on their truck.
Goodyear is all excited about them!

Yes, I'd be interested to hear any results also. Kinda eyeing them myself. Love the Toyo, but I always like something different than what everyone and their brother has. It's a good looking tire, that's for sure!

I refuse to by Goodyears. I had Wrangler MTs on my Nissan. I got them cheap because they were closing out white letters ( to reduce inventory, directional). I was a little concerned about future availability, so I called Goodyear, and asked about it. They assured me that the MTs wouldstay available in my size for at least a couple of years. Less than a year later I went in to have a tire replaced, under road hazard, due to a cut sidewall. I was informed that the 31-10.5 had been discontinued, and they would be happy to replace IT with another style. When I stated this was wouldn't work, they stated their was nothing they could do. I went as far as calling corporate, and was told the same thing. They wouldn't even discuss a break on buying three tires to match the replacement. This left a bad taste in my mouth as far as Goodyear goes.

Well, I've had no luck finding feedback on the forums but read some reviews on tirerack and americastire.com. Seems to be pretty good. Combined with the fact my size Toyo's are on back order for up to 8 weeks, I'll be giving these suckers a try. Will post up when done.

I'd like to see some mounted, preferably black sidewall if they make that. I might go a 305/70/17 tire next round and have been a fan of GY. These have a weird look to the tread which begs for pics.

It'll be a while (few weeks...waiting on parts for front end work) but I'll get pics of mine up ASAP. Funny thing about GoodYear is they made some tires only black wall and some only white letters. These tires are asymmetrical (an inside and an outside) vs directional so the white letter tires have to go white letters out...can not be turned around. Add to that, my size (305/70 16) only comes in white letters, thus, they have to show. Works for me as I like them.

Yeah definitely want to see what they look like on a truck. My buddy bought the Duratrac and man those tires are great. I live in Alaska so we need some good tires. The MTR looks to have a similar design. different tread but same placement design

Good tires, and very tough - but expensive. So much so that I don't sell many. A lot of people consider them with me, until they find out what they cost. Then they pass for less expensive tires. But the people who do buy them will swear by them....

I had the goodyear mt/r's on my jeep...rotated them every 8,000 miles and they wore down extremely fast and cuped so bad that if you drove it down the road it would almost jerk the steering wheel out of your hands... had replace them...i only put 25,000 miles on them...will never put these on any vehicle i own.

I have been looking at them too but I wish they made a 37 wider then a 12.50.If you check out Peterson 4Wheel and Off Road mag or there website they used the new goodyears on there Ultimate Adventure(cross country trip stopping at various offraod parks)and they loved them.Said they did aweswome in the mud and rocks and did well going down the road

Theres very few that try them due to the price, but I personally am not a Goodyear fan. Flat spots have occured and every set I had on my past vehicles have had a flat from a puncture. Toyo's anf BFGs are so popular because they are nearly indestructable.

Are you guys sure you're thinking of the same tire I'm talking about?? There's an MT/R and the brand new MT/R w/Kevlar...NOT the same tire!

Expensive?? This tire is cheaper than the Toyo MT's in my size to the tune of $35 per tire!

Here's the tire I'm talking about.

Harper...You've had this tire for 25,000 miles already??

Damon...this tire is pretty competitively priced from what I've seen, and like I said above, cheaper than the Toyo's in the same size.
