Pro Comp 7005 - DISCONTINUED!

Wouldn't you know it, I finally make a wheel decision, and the ones I really want, the Pro Comp 7005, have been discontinued in a 20". Awesome. So I am back to square one unless someone wants to sell me their used set of 7005s.

Maybe you can find someone who has remaining inventory.

I had 7005's on order in 18's for 6 months. Finally got sick of waiting and bought some used eagles for the time being. Procomp really isn't making many of their wheels at all so its hard to get any of them anyway.

If you like the 7005's , you can always get the Ballistic Jesters and have them powder coated , someone did a photoshop awhile back and they looked pretty much the same.

I was lucky to get mine a year ago.

It's a really popular wheel, I don't know what ProComp is thinking.

Where's the compassion man?!? Nah, its alright I guess, its just tough finding wheels I like. I'm almost like Seinfeld in that I will find some small reason to not like a wheel.

Take the Ballistic Jester suggestion. While not a bad wheel, and I am considering it, I don't really care for the red, and are the riviets too big or is just me? And I don't think I'd powdercoat new wheels, at least not at first. Have I gotten that neurotic about it?

My second choice is a rim with some lip, like the Gear Alloy Recoil and Full Throttle, or dare I say the MM951, with a 4.53 backspace. F_ast has 20x9s with that set up and has to trim the back of the wheel well. I'm fine with trimming the front valance, but the back as well, WTF? I've talked with Rimzone and they said a 4.53 bs is a no go for me with only a level. I need to get a positive offset, but I like the wheels to poke, with a decent lip.

I guess I could go on and on, but I just needed to vent. Thanks for all of the help from all of the posters thus far. I am open to any and all suggestions and/or advice on this one. Thanks.

I don't have any pics, and its dirty right now, not to mention freezing. That excuse out of the way, I will try this weekend, but its just a dark grey FX4, leveled w/20s, factory paint to match, with factory black headlight housings. My "mods" thus far have been window tint, OEM rubber mats, and a sub. David from Rimzone made 7 wheel suggestions, most with a +12 to +10 offset. I need to look them up.

For a DSG fx4 , im assuming you want black.

If i were to buy a new set of black rims it would be one of these.

BMF Novakanes

Diamo 17 Karat

American Racing Mojaves

Black Mazzi hulks

KMC Rockstars

KMC monsters

Thanks Ray. I like the BMFs as well, they're just expensive. I've seen the Diamos before and like them, but then my neighbor's kid just got some for Christmas. I may still check them out price wise as I think he will go back to school soon. I wonder how big the lip can be on those suckers? I don't know, I have about talked myself out of the whole thing. I'll keep looking, and check the Diamos as I said.

Alright, I do like the Diamos, and found a set on eBay. They are 20x10s, with a 5" BS, which is a -12, so says the ad. If I were to wrap them in 33x12.5 Toyo MTs, how much trimming would I have to do?

I also found some Novakanes on eBay for $1500. A little too rich for my budget.
