New Body Lift.. Now tire question..

Hey guys I could use some help.. I just got a 3 inch body lift on my 2005 2wd Single cab F150. It also has a 2.5" leveling kit. I found a deal on craigslist for some 35x12.50R18s toyo m/ts with like 70% tread left. The tires will be going on my stock fx4 18's and I was wondering if they would fit without any rubbing. The toyo site says that they are 13" wide and I was wondering if they would suck in a little on the rim and be 12.5" wide. My buddy has the same set up but with 325/60R20 I believe, on stock fx4 20s and he rubs a little. I've seen people running these tires with just a leveling kit but on 4x4s.. dunno about 2wds.. any help would be great... thanks!!

The 20" rims are 1" wider and have a different backspacing that ends up resulting in less clearance compared to your setup. You will be able to fit the 35's but you should expect some rubbing at full lock.

good to know.. they have such a crazy side wall, just didn't know if that would make them more prone to rubbing.. the guy wants $600 for them.. does that sound like a deal?? I'm thinking about talking him down some..

depends on how bad he wants to get rid of them.

i just sold a set of 35/12.5R20 Toyo M/T's with 20k on them for $625, could of prolly got more, but it only took me 3 days to sell them and i needed room in the garage

i would offer him 500 and see what he says, used tires have a terrible resale value.

IDNC76.. I'm so glad you said something, I was going to pm you and ask what you sold yours for because I remember seeing your tires in the classifieds .. weird. New lift looks sick by the way..

Here are the pics.. I'm thinking they're a little bit more worn down than he says, but I really don't know much about the toyos...

Still thinking $500? I was just going to wait until I had the money for a set of new ones but like they say, if the price is right.. .

The pic of the penny may be a little bit of trickaration. Look at the center of the tread. It's hard to tell in the pics, but the center portion of the tread looks a lot shallower. In fact, the center portion appears to be near the wear indicator bars.

Glad to get a second opinion.. They do look a little worn more towards the center.. Not 100% sure because the tires are dirty and Im just going on pictures and havn't seen them in person. I'm going to see if he can get me some more pictures with better angles on the tires...

I just noticed in the first pic I can actually see the wear indicator bar in the center of the tread of the tire on the far left. If there was a good bit of tread left I don't think it would show up in a pic.

It doesn't look as high as it does in person. I'll post some more when I get a hold of a camera with more than 3 megapixels..

idk if i would even buy them for that much. mayb $300

Heres what mine looked like with 20k on them, they still had most of the sidewall nipples on them, and looked new.

Hmm, sounds like they're not even worth my time. He's still sending me some pics when he gets out of class, maybe they magically grew some tread over night.. nevertheless I'll post them. I would like 35's but I'm not going to put on some tires that are way more worn out than my 33's just for the sake of gaining an inch of height. I only got like 20K on my terra grapplers so I have some time to shop around.. .

Wow, yeah.. if they looked like those I would give him $600 in a heartbeat.. He's being a bit pushy about the whole situation and I really don't know if its worth it to spend the time and effort into getting them, then mounting and balancing them, and then getting new tires like 8 months later.. Well I guess its up to the pictures he sends me later.. they might be the nail in the coffin..
