Question on New Tires

I recently bought a new truck and was not aware that NC did safety checks as well as emissions (just moved to the state). I knew i was gonna need new tires but was gonna wait a year or so, well the truck failed inspection and i ended getting 4 new firestone destination A/T 285/70/17.....im just worried if they will make the truck look like a sad attempt to upgrade? I think it might help and also looks good when the tires stick out a little past the fender...is that tire size or a spacer of some sort??

Tire width plays a little part in it, but for the most part it deals with the offset of your wheels. Achieving that look with your OEM rims is probably not going to happen even with a spacer. Try using the search feature and it will turn up more info, you can also browse the galleries and find setups that you like, more than likely that member will post info that will give you a start in the right direction.
