285/75/16 on a 10" wide rim

Like the title says, how would a BFG All Terrain LT 285/75/16 fit on a 16x10 rim? Reason I ask, is I found a guy who wants to trade me rims. No cash or anything else involved, just trade my stock rims for a set of Eagle Alloys. I'd keep my 285 sized tires. These wouldn't be a permanent size, but they'd be on there until I could find some 35s that would work. Any downside to this? He has 285/75/16 something or anothers on there right now, but the 10" wide on a stock 2wd Superduty isn't fitting so well for him.

That is a awful wide for those tires. Recommended by BFG is 7.5-9 for that size tire.

yea it might make the tires stretch and wear different and make them about 31-32" in diameter also

I run 285-75-17 on an 8" wide rim and they fit great. 10" rims...not so much I'm thinking.

From looking at the pics, I'm not so sure it's a 10" wide rim like he says it is... I know the guy selling them, but I haven't seen them on the truck in person. Those tires on them now are 285/75/16s...

I ran 285/75-16 BFG AT KO's on 16x10 Eagles for about 60,000 miles with no problems at all.

Cool stuff... I'll be picking the rims up this weekend. I'll also be able to sell the tires which are on there now, so that will cover the mounting and balancing costs...

the only reason i put my 285's on the 10" wide wheel was bcuz i had them on stocks for only like 5,000 miles when i bought the new rims and i figured it would just be a waste of money to get a new set. but The rims have not made mine wear uneven, all of the tires had perfect wear until i had my balljoint issues.
