Change of Heart

Hey guys I'm new here but I figured you all could help me out with a couple questions. I have a 2002 F 150 FX4, Single cab, standard body, with 5" lift. I have 20x9.5 Chrome Ultra Wheel Goliath on 32x12.50 Toyo Open Country A/T's. I want to completely change the look! I'm tired of the flashy "show truck" look and want to move to the mean off-road badass look. I want to either do 20" KMC Rockstars or 20" KMC Revolvers on 36x13.50 Super Swamper Iroks. The Revolvers are absolutely sick!!! But i can't find any for a 5 on 135 lug pattern anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Here are my questions:

1. Will I be safe with 36" tires on a 5" lift?

2. If they don't make the Revolvers for my lug pattern how much work and money would it cost to do an 8 on 170mm? And would it really be worth my time?

Just crank your stock torsion bars you'll clear them.

IMO, anything with 20" wheels isn't a mean BA offroad truck...it's like, just for looks, afraid to get dirty truck. I wouldn't go bigger than 17"s on a 1/2 ton. But to each his own. Wheels that big is what you expect to see on a flashy truck.

Yea I know what you mean. In my opinion I don't think either one of those wheels look good that small. But thats just me. The traditional look for an offroad truck is like 40" balloon tires on 15" rims. I want to still bring that offroad look with a little of my own taste too it. I personally just like 20"... no bigger, no smaller.

I'm not sure man...it does sound expensive tho. I mean, are you ready to go thru all that trouble for a set of wheels? They make plenty of other wheels that look good in your pattern.
Check out tirepackage.com. Just click on a brand type in your pattern and size and it will show you the wheels they have that meet your specifications. Check out motometal, KMC, and XD wheels, they all make very similar wheels to what your looking at getting and they all have wheels available in our lug pattern too.

I think 20's look good with 35s and above.

I think the revolvers look good and it would be original for our truck. As for the conversion you could run lug pattern adapters so you can keep your stock 5 lug if you ever want to take these off. Or you could look for a shop that could drill a 5x135 pattern into the rim if that would work.

Whats a lug pattern adapter? And as far as drilling into the rim wouldn't that be hard with all the other holes already drilled in it, like would the line up right without complication?

Drill into the rim? IDK about that. i didn't think about it but yeah they make lug pattern adapters. Haven't really heard anything about them. but would guess they're like a wheel spacer. Don't know exactly how they work might cause problems

I can look into it. I gotta buddy around here who deals with all these lifted trucks with crazy mods around my area. He's just hard to get a hold of. I'll try to get in touch with him and get back to you guys about what he says.

Ok so lug adapters are basically a spacer with extra lugs. It will give about 1"-1 1/2" of space plus whatever lug patter I want

Have you considered powder coating your chrome wheels and buying new tires?
