Chrome rims, getting powder coated, Help!

Chrome rims, getting powder coated, Help!

Ok guys im gettin my 20s powder coated black next week, Not all black just a black lip and the back of them, Now i heard that chrome has to acid dipped or somthing to be able to powder coat them, they guy says he cant do that and he etches it with a sandblasting techinque, now is this safe, will the powder coat stay on there good? sorry for all the questions just making sure i get it done right.

No help come on guys i know someone has to know about powder coating.

i had my chrome bumper sandblasted and powder coated, it still looks great a year and a half later.

I dont kno much about powder coating , but im pretty sure the sand blasting is nessacary unless you have another way to get the chrome off.
