Toyo MT's

Saw a truck on the jobsite just like mine yesterday. It had 275-70-R18 toyo mt's with no leveling kit. I liked the tires. I am getting a 2 or 2.5 leveling kit installed and was wondering if this is a good size to go with or can I go a little bigger.

I think you would regret not going bigger, they make a 285/75R18 (35x11.50) which is a great upsize with a leveling kit, also a 33x12.50 if you want to be a bit more conservative.

I agree. I'd go with 33x12.50-18's personally.

nope, you will be just fine...as always just make it a point to take proper care (monitor tire pressure, rotate, etc)

Just make sure you rotate the m/t's every oil change. It will buy you alot of life with these tires. Made the mistake once and it cost a new set of tires.

Now I am looking at the 285-75-18 mt's. Just curious about 35s and effect on my truck. I have 3:73 gears, see any problem. Also is a stock lariat wheel 7.5 or 8 wide I think they want to use an 8 inch for the 12.50. I know a lot of people here have the 12.50 on stock wheels and respect their opinion very much just wondering if Les Schwab will give me a hard time. Thanks.

The 35's will slow you down but using a programmer will help. Also if the tires are 12.5 inches wide you may have some rubbing on the control arms when turning. This is due to the side lugs on the mt's and using stock wheels. These are heavy tires and will take their toll on brakes also. The end result though will be worth it in the "look's dept" !

Now I am being a freak. Can't decide between the Toyo AT or MT. Being practical I think the AT would be better but I am 52 yrs old and never had a set of big bad *** tires so I want the mt's. Any Ideas>?
