Rim width question

OK, I am finally settling on some rims I like off eBay. They are 20x9's. I am looking at tires that are sized 275/55R20, specifically Firestone Destination A/ts. How can I be sure the width of the tires fit the width of the rims?

On a tangent, comparing sizes, I am currently running snowtires that are 245/70R17. According to the size calculator I found the new tires will be 31.9 vs the current 30.5. I have an unleveled 2009 XL 4x2, when should I be worried about rubbing?

*Bump*

Anyone? Does it help to mention the rims have an offset of 35? Would I need any spacers?

Every tire manufacturer website list the approved wheel width for each tire. But yes, they will fit on a 9 inch wide wheel. As for fitment, as long as the wheels have 6 to 7 inches of backspacing, that tire/wheel combo will fit easily.

How do I determine backspacing? If the wheel is 9", and the offset is 35 (~1.5"), does that make the spacing 6" (9"/2 + 1.5)? Is that how you do that math?
