Is this something my local tire shop can do, or is it so simple that i can do myself?

yep, not a bad idea at all....had mine cranked on my old truck and ran them for 60+k miles with no issues at all.

I actually just paid a shop $10 to do it since I needed them to do an alignment afterwards anyway.

It's real easy to do if you know how to locate the T bar bolts.....then you just run them all the way in to raise it.

Just make sure you do the alignment afterwards if you do end up doing it yourself.

I did mine back when I had an 03', easy. I believe it ws 6 or 7 to full and I backed'em off by 3/4. Gave me about anopther 1.5" and I had 34" tires, no rubbing, no issues and made the truck look totally different.
