Bent rear passenger axle??

Hi,

My truck has a "wobbly” rear passenger side wheel. It’s been like this since I bought the truck, 35K miles ago. The truck has 40K miles on it. I did replace the rims when I bought the truck, hoping that it was just a bent rim (and I wanted cool looking rims). But it was still “wobbly”. Now I’m thinking that the rear passenger side axle is bent and that may need to be replaced.

Is there anything else back there that could e causing this problem? Should I replace both axles or is just replacing 1 OK. I have 3.73 gears. Should I upgrade the gears while I’m in there? I already have an edge programmer to adjust for the different gearing, if I do upgrade. Is it cheaper to replace the whole rear end? Any recommendations…?

Thanks,

Rob

Try posting this in the "Other Powertrain" Section as well....maybe you can get a response from someone in there....I really don't know anything about that and apparently no one else in here does...

I bent an axle rod on my old truck about 4 years ago but it was bad enough it couldn't be driven....not sure if it could just be bent a little enough to cause a little "wobble"...Wish I could help.
