Tire Advice

Im gonna buy these ATX Mojave's for my new 06 STX. They are 17x8 with 0 offset. Looking at putting on BF All-Terrain 275/65R17's. Any different recommendations as far as tire and/or size? Not looking to go too big, 80% highway 20% beach use.

Go with a 285, 275 is so narrow. I think my 285's are horribly narrow.

Thanks Chris. I dont want them to be too narrow because I wil be going on the beach and wider certainly is better.

They also make a 305x65x17 that would work if the truck's a 4x4.

If your'e going to be beachin' it, for sure, listen to Paw Paw. 305's. You might can even find a 33" tall 325 for a 17, I know you can for 18's, but I'm not positive.

So I did some research.

Are you leveled? If so, I don't think you would have a problem fitting Nitto Terra Grapplers in a 305/70-17, which is 33.98" tall.

And BFG does make the 305/65-17 AT, that would be a great choice also.

I plan on putting in a 2" level in the front. I will consider the 285 or 305. My dad has the 285's on his excursion diesel and its an animal on the beach.

This is what 285s will look like with 17x8 inch wheels and a two inch leveling kit... Toyo Open Country M/Ts installed... No rubbing or trimming required...

Those ought to be OK on a stock height truck with 8" wide wheel's. May as well get it leveled and go with a little larger tire because you will probably regret it later. Think the truck is sick you ought to see the driver!!
