Nitto Trail Grappler M/Ts blew up during install, any ideas?

The dealership left me a message yesterday afternoon. They took off the other 3 tires and would like me to come in Monday morning to meet with the service manager (he wasn't in on Friday or Saturday). To me, this sounds like they are going to take blame (why else would they want me to come in and meet with the service manager and the manager that was on duty?). I think they probably found bead damage on the other tires and used the wrong tool or something.

Hate to say it but that looks like damage from the installer. I bet that is the spot he started putting the bead on the wheel and cut into the bead with the tire tool. Hope everything works out for you. I'm getting a set of Nittos Terraa Grapplers for my screw in a couple of weeks and do hope it was a install mistake

I recently had the Nitto Trail Grapplers installed on XD spy wheels.Tires are 285/65x18 and the rims are 18x8.5. So far they have been great, I have about 900 miles on them so far with no problems. They are a bit aggressive though, I would have liked to get something a bit milder like an all terrain type.

Isn't it kind of pushing the limits installing an 11.5 inch wide tire on a 10 inch wide wheel. When you get up in the 18 and 20 inch wheels there isn't much sidewall to play with. Then you factor in the stiffness of a 10 ply. Maybe I'm wrong but I've been told to not exceed a 9 inch wide wheel for a 11.5 inch wide tire. Just my thought.

I did hear from Discount Tire Direct, they did say it was definitely installer damage and was caused because they mounted the tires with the face of the wheel up and my wheels are "reverse barrel".
The dealership is taking care of it and I'll have the new tires here Thursday. Only problem was that they were out of the Trail Grapplers so I went with the Mud Grapplers. I was undecided at first on which tires to get so I'm not upset at all, just had to pay the difference $30/tire.
Cliff notes for everyone:
-Ford Dealership messed up the mounting, but is taking full responsibility
-Discount Tire Direct is awesome, I've never had any trouble with them and they have been great through this process
-Still disappointed with Nitto's complete lack of caring and customer support, although their products continue to impress me.
