Cooper STT opinions?

Hey guys, I have a 2003 fx4 f-150 with 285/70/r17 cooper ATR's. These have been decent tires but im looking for something more aggressive. Anyone had any experiences with the STT? thanks

I've heard mixed reviews. Some say they're the same as Toyo M/T's w/out the pricetag of the Toyo's but nearly everyone I've talked to or read online that has had the Coopers say they're not getting near the mileage out of them as the Toyo's and that the tread blocks start chunking easily on the Coopers. YMMV but if it were me (which it will be this week lol) I'm going for the Toyo's b/c they're proven, have nearly flawless reviews, and the mileage you can get out of them.

Great tire. I just traded in my 05 with these tires on it. I put them on at 55K miles and traded the truck in at 100K with plenty of treard left (at least 20K). I had them rotated and balanced every 5k. They were real quiet for a mud tire when I first got them, but got a little hum above 50 mph as they got older, nothing too bad. Mine were 275/70R18. Good traction all around, including snow and rain. never had any issues. Installed on stock wheels.

Great tire. Of course they're no Toyo, or else they'd cost just as much. Mine have never left me stranded though. I've got a little over 20k on mine, and have atleast another 20k left. Havn't experienced any chunking, but they do get a little louder over time.

Got a set of 315/75/16s on my 98, couldnt ask for a better tire for the money I got them for. Bought them brand new, they are excellent in mud, alright in snow, and great on the highway and street, not much road noise. The wear is VERY good, I've had them for 2 years and there is very little wear, but I dont drive my truck too much

Im running 265x70r,16's Cooper ST's and have about 40k on them, will be needing new ones come fall.
These ones seem to be a great tire but when they get wore down the compound seems to get harder .
They wear to a point and stop wearing , at that point they seem to slightly chunk/round off a bit on the outside edges.
They seem to loose their bite around 3/4 wear and will slide a bit easier in wet weather conditions...snowy roads ....be carefull!

Iv'e had these for 5yrs now and were driven in moderate city driving with a dozen or so hwy trips a year... and a few cruises w/ leave your black marks here spots ....gotta show those chevy boys it's a posi

I wanted the SST's but the price was to much at the time ...love the side lug look on them though

I see Cooper makes a ST-C model, same as the ST but looks to have a softer compound to resit chunking for more off-roading apps.
I'll have to check them out when it's time , I need something that's going to hold the road better in the winter.
