I THINK they are painted and most likely clear coated. If that is the case, clay bar then treat like paint. But you tried some harmful stuff on there that is not meant for that finish. I want to hear what the others say, but those wheels I think you treat like the paint on your truck.

First off, give people here more than 29 minutes to come to your rescue.

Your wheels are more than likely painted. You should check Boss's website to make sure what finish you have before you start throwing cleaning products on them. Windex is not a wheel cleaner, neither is wax. You need a quality wheel cleaner designed for your finish.

I'd start with a mild clay bar. If that doesn't work grab some polish. Progressively move up the ladder in terms of aggresiveness.

Check out the Care & Detailing forum.

You should have just bought my wheels.

They are already in mint condition. You wouldn't have had to do anything to them.

Check the detailing section for wheel cleaning tips.

Blue Majic is an aluminum polish intended for bare, polished aluminum, not paint.
