New wheels, should I replace brake pads?

I just purchased some new wheels and tires (33x12.50 18 Toyo MT's on 18x9 Chrome Eagle Alloy 079's). The current brake pads appear to have a lot of life left in them, but the did produce a lot of dust on my stock wheels. Just wondering if it would be smart to go ahead and replace them with some ceramics to reduce dust? Are ceramics any better for chrome wheels? I'm not looking for any shortcuts, as I do plan to keep my new wheels clean, but figured if the ceramics were better on them, it would be worth it for me.

Thanks,
Joey

Yes, I would, but don't know about ceramics. I have run Wagner ThermoQuiets for years with no dust. They are a high quality semimetallic

I have never heard any. Infact, I have seen some have dust problems with ceramics. Do an advanced search on Wagner ThermoQuiets and se what you find. It will amaze you, I suspect

I'll check my locals to see how they compare.
Thanks again guys!

I have the Wagner TQ ceramics on my truck for about a year now. They do not dust whatsoever and my stock rotors appear to be fine. I got them because I tow a lot and they are supposed to handle high heat situations better and do not fade as easy. Either Wagner TQ will be a hugh improvement over stock. Try Rockauto.com they are usually the cheapest and are super fast on shipping.

I just priced them from Rockauto.com, and they have an excellent price. I can get the semi metallics for $89.41 shipped, and then there's a $30 mail-in rebate through Wagner that's good until 5/31. So can get front and rear pads for only $60 after mail-in rebate!!

Thanks for the info!

I'm partial to Hawk pads , but people seem to like the TQs.

As long as you don't get ceramics you're okay. Ceramics will burn up, warp and destroy your rotors, especially cheap ones!
