What size tire?

I have a 2009 4X2 XLT with a 2" pro comp level....i got a set of brand new FX4 18" wheels from my dealer....i believe they are 7.5" wide...about to get Nitto terra or trail grapplers and I wanted to know what a good size and width would be without any rubbing.....

285/65/18 and 285/70/17 are basically the same size tire. Except he needs the 285/65/18 for his rims.

I agree. I'd suggest a 285/65-18 (33x11.50) or a 305/60-18 (33x12.50).

How much farther will a 285/65/18 and a 305/60/18 stick out past the OEM tires?

With the 285 you will not notice much at all. A little with the 305's but all will still be under the fenders. A different wheel would do more than the difference in width between OEM and the size listed above.

Here are my 295's:

285's

Here is a pic with my 285's. They stick out more than the stock tires, but are still pretty conservative compared to what I see here in Utah.

also might want to look at the 295/65/18 goodyear duratracs which are a mt/at hybrid and about 33.2x12x18 which will fill up the 2wd wells nicely
