2006 FX4 rear pads and rotors

Time for new rear pads and rotors on my truck. Read the DIY guide in the write up section. I'm planning on buying the hardware from RockAuto as it seems to be very well recommended.

My question after searching is what brand rotor and pads? It seems a lot of people have had good experience with the Wagner ThermoQuiet pads (WAGNER Part # MX1012 {ThermoQuiet} ) and the Centric rotors (CENTRIC Part # 12065102 {Centric Premium Rotor}).

Anything comparable that I could pick up from a store? There is just about every parts store in my area i.e. AutoZone, O'Reilly, Napa, Advance, etc.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Not sure about the Rotors off the top of my head but you can get the wagners from Advance.

Great pad, well documented and liked on here. No need for new rotors...get the stock ones turned.

Went to Belle Tire to get my tires rotated and they told me not enough left on the rotors to turn them. Funny since the Ford dealership told me, after the oil change, that I would need new pads only and didn't mention anything about the rotors. 50,000 and some odd miles on them.

Wagner rotors from Advance, are they good rotors? I would prefer to not pay the shipping and handling if I can pick them up locally.

Autoanything.com has free shipping. They also carry Hawk pads which I really like.

Thats crazy I just ordered this exact setup. I was running EBC's all the way around and they turned out to be garbage. I picked the Centric premiums because I wanted a good quality blank and these were even coated, they have great reviews. Tire rack had the rotors for a good price so I ordered them from there. The Wagner's I got were from Advance Auto I get confused over which is the front and which is the rear but the part numbers are QC1083 and QC1012. plus from Wagner has a $30.00 rebate till the end of this month.

1083 is the front, 1012 is rear, and they are the ceramics. I have the exact pads, love them.

50,000 miles on the original rear rotors and they're saying they can't be turned?? I'm throwin out the BS flag.

top2002...which EBC pads did you have?? Yes, EBC does make some 'el-cheapo pads, and those suck some major butt. The Green Stuff, particularly the 6000 & 7000 series pads are quite phenomenal however.

I have the TQ ceramics also and highly reccomend them. Rockauto is a great place to order from. They have distribution sites all over the US and usually it arrives within one or two days.

I believe my issue was I went with slotted and dimpled EBC rotors The pads may have been fine. I was drawn in at how cool they looked on the truck. It was a big mistake. The Centric rotors from Tirerack and Wagner pads now have 60K on then and braking is still smooth. I was disappointed in the EBC products but I am just one person. I am sure if I went with good blanks and EBC pads I would have been happier.
