New Wheels and Tires

Hi I just bought a 1997 f-150 and I am putting on a 3 inch suspension lift on it. I also want to upgrade the tires to a bigger size, maybe 33" or 35" tires. I also want to put new wheels on the truck, and keep the old ones for back up. I inly want to spend between 1200 and 13000 on this wheel and tire project, does anyone know of a decent deal where i can get this. Thanks very much, Justin

i think you are talking about a 3 inch body lift which if you do the install yourself your look at 250 shipped most likely, now for the tires i would recommend a 35 inch tire with the body lift they look very nice a of course depending on which tires you get you are looking at anywhere from 900-1200 i would guess

but here in a little bit im sure wandell will chime in and he will be able to give you better information than i can

congrats on the truck !

oh ya is it a 4x4 ? because if not the 35s will be a squeez i think

I agree with most of what karnak says. If you're concerned with price, definitely stay in the 16" or 17" wheel sizes. 18" isn't bad, but you're not going to get a package of 18's plus tires in 33's or 35's for $1300. I have 20's on my 2002 and just for tires (33's) they cost me $1400.

I love using Discount Tire for my tires and wheels. They will do their best to match prices. Online places that do a pretty good job with packages would be rimzoneonline.com and westkycustoms.com. Looking at those sites, looks like it might be tough to find our bolt pattern, so you may need to call them. Other than those, keep a lookout on ebay and craigslist.

Yeah, it is going to be near impossible to get it in with that budget unless you find some really good used deals....it is getting harder and harder to find rims in the 5x135 bolt pattern.

Go with around a 9-10'' rim with around 4.5'' backspacing and some 35x12.50, that is a great look with a 3'' body lift. Assuming you have a 4x4.

RIght. And if you have a 4x2, go with 33's.

Im in the same issue I have Yokohama Geolander M/T's 265/70/17 on my 01 4x4 screw & I wanna to see the difference in 35's & 33's on my truck I own a 3" body lift but havent installed it, it would not have looked so good with the 265 tires. It has a leveling kit and torsion bars cranked slightly already. I wasnt sure the 1st go round on what I wanted , & my guy friends werent just giving away answers. Guess I didnt ask the right questions, so im asking & wanting to see pics. I want it squaty but not as so wide it throws a whole bunch of rocks & eats gas. I thinking Cooper STT 33's. Will they fit on my stock 17's? Im not opposing new rims but I want the black ones. I just wanna see pics of options. Here is what she looks like now $1500-ish budget. Thanks for help in advance!
