Without a doubt, yes. Those rings keep the wheels center on the hub. You will notice that most rims are NOT hub centric which means they sit wherever you tighten them up at on the wheel. Using the rings places the rim exactly in the middle so you wont get any hoping going down the road. They are a must have.

There is no way the rings can hinder the performance of the balancing. Ask any major shop about them. They actually perfectly center the rim on the axle and hub. If you have any vibration its due to a bad rim, tire, or balance. I have had several sets put on several of my trucks and if I didnt use the rings sometimes the shaking or hopping would happen until the rings centered the rim on the hub. If you are having that problem you need to have them check each rim for being bent or a tire having more rubber on part of the tire and out of round. A good shop (not discounttire) a true truck shop that knows what they are doing will know how to tell you what is bad. The shop I go to actually put the truck in gear and watches the wheels as they turn to make sure they are smooth visually and there is not much movement. Not all tires or rims are perfect so the key is to make sure when you buy them they are tested first on the vehicle moving. You will be able yourself to see the difference between all 4 of them and how much they are going to wobble or not while they are in the air on a lift 1 foot off the gound. You can even do it yourself in your garage on 4 jackstands and put it in gear and let off the brake, get out of the truck and watch them turn to see which one is giving you h e l l
