Thumbs down Toyo Price Increase.....

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but since I will be needing new tires here soon I was doing a bit of pricing before hand and saw this...

Toyo will be increasing prices by 8%

http://toyotires.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=141

Means the 38's I was going to buy will now cost me around 1900 bucks

1300 bucks installed, so far they've proven to be better than Toyos.

Check them out https://www.f150online.com/forums/wh...re-review.html

I was thinking i would just run Toyo's again, but after seeing this I'm definitely expanding my options

I'll have to check those out OG, if they can hold up to the abuses you put them through they should be gold for me!

Well I'm on 780 some odd miles on them, about 300 of that off roading and they don't look any where close to how the Toyos looked after I first took them off roading. So far my heart is set with the HanKooks. Still need to see how many miles I can get out of them.

as if there not expensive enough already

too bad the trail grapplers only come if limited sizes , i would have bought those if they came in a 38.

what size are you looking for 38/13.5R20 ?

Kuhmo's M/t come in 38/15.5R20 but there not a true 15.5 width

Super swamper M-16's come 40/14.5R20 , theyre only 14" wide and only weigh 99 pounds , compare that to the 38/13.5R20 Toyo they weigh 100 pounds.

The only company that makes a skinny 38 is toyo but if you want a 15.5 there are alot more options.

I concur on the suckiness of this news. I was going to buy the 33x12.5s later, but will look at the many more options I have as well. Thanks for the heads up.

And BTW Ray, I plan on buying some wheels later today.

The Toyo MTs sell like pu**y in jail. Of course they are gonna jack up the price if people still buy them. There are better tires for less monies out there.

The problem about the existence of better tires means I must reboot all of the research I already performed. Oh well, what else am I going to do, work?

I was looking for a 38x15.50R20 hopefully. I guess I could stay with a 37, but its not my first choice.

I'm hoping these toyos can hold me at least through august if not the end of the year. However my driving increases significantly during the summer so we will see.

I'm also back in the research dept.
