+1. As an engineer I know all about working on the safe side when you're getting paid (and managing liability). If I was a mechanic I'd turn every time, too (though I still wouldn't insist on new rotors every time, unless they were warped or problematic...)

But if I'm working on my own truck and the surface looks & feels good, I'll clean it up and go again without turning because I don't have access to the equipment and it's not worth the $40 to pay someone to turn them as long as they work and feel fine without. I guess it really comes down to money and practicality.
