Front wheel speed sensor

Got back from the dealer and was told that my front wheel broke or cut through the wire leading to the sensor. So I took the wheel off and there is a 1/4" cut in the wire. My question is, the part is going to run 160.00 plus install, can the wire be fixed? I know this is the brakes we are talking about, but being on the unemployment train doesn't afford much in the spare funds to buy parts with category. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also word of advise to those with lift's and aggressive tires. Make sure all wires are properly tied up so they cant become fodder for the treads.

Never mind fixing the wire, just found out about Rock Auto and can get the same freaking part the stealer wants $177.83 for. Less than $100.00 Thanks to all who have said Rock Auto. I love this place.

Rock Auto is great. I just bought a caliper for $40 less than what the stealership wanted.
