Napa autozone or checkers

I only have 3 places in this isolated desert town of mine to get car parts and that's Napa autozone and checkers. Which place would you guys recommend buying my rotors and brake pads from? Also any help advice or anything would be appreciated because this will be my first brake job.

I would NOT go to Auto Zone!!! I have never heard of Checkers so if it were me I would go to NAPA. Auto Zone is a JOKE their parts are crap!! For ex. I went through 3 alternators one time and ALL of their Duracrap ones FAILED!! I ONLY go to auto zone for things like brake cleaner, cleaning supplies etc. somthing that those morons cant screw up!!!

As much as i would love to shop online i need these parts now because i'm doing my brakes tomorrow. My front left rotor is completely shot.

And yes autozone is a joke. There "specialist" are morons, and there testing equipment is worthless. I just had an alternator go out they tested it twice. On the truck and off the truck and both times they said it was good. One of our own members on here showed me how to take it apart and check the brushes which i did and the brushes were GONE!

But anyways. Looks like i will be going with napa parts.

I surely trust Napa over Idiot Zone and anywhere else. I'm running their 800cca battery and a few of their adapter sockets in my tool chest. The calipers they have are a joke, but basic disk rotors would be fine.

Im in the same position as you, my front left rotor is grooved due to a seized caliper I just replaced, RockAuto is excellent if you can wait a couple days for parts, or rich enough to overnight. To fix my Rotor issue i'm shelling out 4 bills for Power Slot Cryo's. Only wish they were much cheaper..

I think it all depends where you live. Here all of them are dumb, the guys at napa are worse than the rest though. The Napa up at my girlfriends school rocks though, its one of the privately owned ones. Has by far the best staff I've ever seen, the type of guys that you could just sit and talk to for an hour. Love it

Yeah im sure location matters. The napa here is privately owned as well. Other then that im not really sure how knowledgeable they are. As for myself im still learning i want to learn how to do everything the right way and use good parts.

Well i was in a huge hurry to fix my brakes but after today's commute back and forth from work.. a whole couple miles it seemed to just dig a deep enough groove that its not touching anymore and i can still stop fine. I might just go and take a look at rock auto and decide if im willing to wait a few days.

Cool man, The Wagner Thermo Quiet Semi-Metallics with OE replacement rotors is a great kit. Can get slotted rotors if your willing to pay up more. My rotor is grooved real bad too, my bud who is good with brake systems says I can run this way for another month, 2 months and the pad should be completely gone.. So yeah

Do yourself a favor. When you do this brake job, go ahead and replace your brake fluid too.
Autozone staff can be complete tard babies, but their ceramic golds and rotors are not terrible. With that said I have not used them on my F150 yet.

I was planning to, thats pretty much a requirement. Probably also lead to the death of my front left caliper too.
