Highway Tire Suggestions?
I have always used an all-terrain tire, so i dont know much about the highway tires.
the guy at Discount Tire was telling me the Michelin LTX MS/2 are the best for my truck, but i wanted to hear what the experts here had to say.
Currently have a 305/65/18 BFG AT, and i have like them, but i want to buy something that is:
1. Not as expensive
2. Will last longer
I would really like to keep my cost under $1000 if possible, but i am flexible. I just dont want to pay for something i am not going to use (read: off-road)
I drive about 500 miles a week all highway.
My car has 128k miles so i would like this to be the last set i buy, for this truck.

This is what makes a good highway tire: "silica-enhanced all-season compound," and that is from the Michelin LTX M/S2 description. I think I'll get a set of those for my wife's vehicle.

You absolutely can't beat the Michelin LTX M/S line of tires. I had a set on a previous truck and put 60k or more on them without a rotate or balance. I have no doubt they could have made it to 100k. Your gonna spend some money on them but they are the best everyday driving tire.
Forget Goodyear, I and everyone I know has gotten nothing but junk from them.

I have bought several sets of Michelin LTX M/S and Cross Ts, but for my last tires, I let a guy talk me into Toyo Proxes ST II. It is the best handling tire by far that I have ever had. Remains to be seen how long they last as I have about 12,000 on them. Look good so far.
