new wheel/tire package help

Hi I have a 2001 f350 supercab 4x4 and its abt time for some new tires.

I actually want big tires that will look much more aggresive than the stocks.
I know ill have to get bigger wheels to make it look right, so does anyone have any idea if there are any wheel/tire packages for 1000-1300? I dont care what kind of tires, as long as they are aggresive looking and can handle plowing, and I dont care about the wheels either. Black, silver, chrome...whatever! Thanks in advance.

For $1000, you better keep your stock rims! I think stock strokers can fit 35's without lifting it. So I'd just look at 35's or 33's that'll fit your rim size, which is 16's correct?

Go to your tire shop and look at some catalogs, look at 4wheelparts.com, and look at tire rack or any other various tire store on the net. See what ya like and then just make sure your tire is less than 35in tall, and the rim size is 16 (or whatever rim size you have).

I agree. You can fit a 35x12.50 tire using your stock wheels. If you go to a wider aftermarket wheel, stick with a 33 inch tire.

Sorry, unless you find some deep closeouts, or pure junk, or both - you are not going to find a new wheel set for a grand. I did a quick search, and General Grabber AT2 tires in 35 x 12.5 are going to bring you in at about $1200 alone before wheels. F350 8 bolt wheels tend to be a bit pricier, too because they have to be built to higher load rating specs. My best price 18" wheel is about $150 each.

If you are not in a hurry, spend some time on craigslist or craigslook.com. Ive come across numerous ads for 8 lug wheels, tires and packages.

Thats what I was getting at. You'd HAVE to spend more than a grand on just the tires alone, so your best bet is to keep the wheels. Plus those particular stock Powerstroke wheels aren't that shabby looking anyway.

If he's not in a hurry his best bet is just to sit back some more cash over the next month or two and then buy your tires and throw them on your stock wheels. And then eventually when you save another thousand or so bucks, then buy a nice set of rims that you like.
