"Correct" wheel size

Good morning:

I have an 06' FX4 with an AS level up front. I believe the stock setup is 18 in. wheel with 5.5 of backspace. I am looking to "fill out" the wheelwells with more rubber. I am not a fan of low aspect sidewalls e.g. 50 or 60. So my question is what size wheel to get a bigger aspect ratio say 70or 75? If I go down to 17 rim can I get a bigger aspect ratio converslyif I go to 20 in rim does that limit my sidewall size?

Is there any advantage toa bigger rim or is all about the look?

Again I want as much sidewall as I can get but I am afaraid if I go with smaller rims 16or 17 the truck will look "off"

Any help is appreciated.

BTW I am considering KM/2 or mud grapplers

You will be limited to smaller sidewall with 20s unless you add a body lift or suspension lift for clearance. 16 inch wheels won't clear on a 04+ so throw those out of the equation. No advantage to a large wheel in this case except for looks.

In my opinion, I think a 18x9 inch wheel and a set of 305/60-18's (33x12.50) or 325/60-18's (33x13.00) would look great.

You can also fit 35s with the leveling kit if you stick to your stock wheels, or wheels with matching specs. BFG makes a 35x12.5x18 KM2, sounds like they should fit the bill.

I have 285/65/20s, here's a pic before the lift.
