Hey guys, I have done some searching but couldn't find anything so I was wondering if anyone knew of a write up on changing brakes on a 1998 4x4 4.6L? I just bought a repair manual online to help also. I am a broke college student and cant afford to have someone else do it. And I want to learn how to do it! Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Doing all 4 or just the front (also if doing all 4 is rear disk or drum)? I can give you a quick "how to" if you need. I dont know of a write up off the top my head. If there is a write up for the 04+ models you can use that as a guide line as well - they are similar enough to get the job done.

 

Thanks for the advice. Im not sure how many I will need to change. I know I will need to do it sooner or later so I thought I would look into it now. Are there any tips anyone has for when I do it? Any special tools or anything? Like I said, any advice will be appreciated.

no problem, your '98 probably has drums on the rear huh?

 

I am thinking it does, as far as 4wd it will not differ than 2wd as long as your doing just the pads so that write up should work.
