Autospring Leveling kit 2''....

I got a tire company telling me its going to cost $548 for a leveing kit for my 07. So what i want to know is what else do I have to do, besides an alignment, if I just buy the autospring 2'' leveing kit an install it myself? Do I need new bushings and shocks and the whole 9?

Someone actually had the nerve to quote you $548 for a leveling kit and installation? That is unreal. But the bright side is you now know that this shop is a ripoff joint.
All you need is the leveling kit and an alignment after you install it.

All you do is remove your front struts, and bolt the leveling kit on top, then reinstall the front struts. Thats it. Takes like an hour at hour with hand tools.

The a.s. kits are under 100.00, and install should be no more then 1hour at a shop if you went that route, the alignment should be no more then 80.00.

heres some quick threads on it.

Seeing how the AS kit is well under $100, the rest has to be for labor. OUCH !! Those guys don't work cheap.
I would go back to that tire company and ask them if their price includes the vasoline or do you have to pay extra for that to.

negative. the only thing you need is the leveling kit and some tools. I dont remember the exact sizes but you will need a few sockets and a wrench or two (to unbolt and bolt the strut), of course a jack and some stands, and you may want to use somethin to pry the strut in and out too. thats pretty much it man. it will make it a lot easier if you have access to compressor and some air tools. i did mine at home in about an hour. nothing to it. while your into all that stuff too, you might want to check your ball joints to make sure they are still holdin up, it would be a pain to go through all this work to find out your truck cant be aligned because you ball joints crapped out, then you got to go through a similar process as the leveling kit install just to change the ball joints. anyway best of luck man and i hope it all works out.

Make sure you have a 30mm DEEP socket to remove the large nut at the bottom of the strut assembly.

And stop considering doing business with that tire company. They clearly want to stuff it up you .....

I just got an AS kit and will be doing the install myself soon. These are the threads I'll be referring to for help on the install

There isnt even anywhere to put a bushings kit. They are clearly trying to screw you.
If i can do it in my lawn with hand tools in a hour, with about 4 smoke breaks then a shop with a lift and air tools can do it in less then an hour.
So lets say they charge 1 hour labor and they are 80.00 an hour. You should only be paying 80.00, plus another 80.00 for the alignment. So 160.00 tops, and then the a.s. lift cost less then 80.00 itself. so you shouldn't have anymore then 250.00 into it.

I did the install myself. An didnt even need alignment after. So it only cost me whatever the a.s. was. I drove the truck for three years with no issues at all afterward.

Theres a ton of install threads on this site alone, plus every other ford site has a ton of them. Just do some searching and get to it at home, screw the shop!
