Tallest Stock 18" Tire
My brother (a member here: "RLTW") is deployed for his third deployment in Astan and he's in need of some new tires for his FX4. I'm thinking of getting him some new shoes for his truck while he's gone.
What's the tallest tire I can fit on his stock 18" rims FX4 with NO leveling kit?
Thanks.

You asked for the largest size without rubbng. And yes, a 12.50 inch wide tire is pushing the limit on the OEM 7.5 inch wide wheels as most tire manufacturers recommend at least an 8 inch wide wheel. But many, many members here and FTW have run that size without any problems. And yes, they would look better with a leveling kit.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Looks like a 33" tire it is.
The reason he wants to keep the ride height of his truck stock is because we all know the front end on these are notorious for taking a **** with the ball joints. He is looking for some good, reliable, longevity use of the truck and doesn't want to be playing around with adding a leveling kit to the front which might jeopardize the life of those crappy ball joints. Luckily I got all four of mine replaced before my warranty ran out...$1200 job from the Stealership.

Thanks again guys for the help.
But once again, we aren't going LEVELED or LIFTED. It's going to stay at stock height on the oem rims. That's why I asked what's the tallest tire we can run on stock 18" rims at stock ride height. It looks like we'll be able to get away with a 33" A/T. I run BFG AT's as my winter tires and seem to work well in the snow.
I like to use this "Tire Size Calculator" to help out with metric size conversions: http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html
