Front Rotors 2005 F150

My F150 has 43,000 miles on it. At 16,000 and at 25,000 miles I had to have the front rotors turned. And now they are warped again. Ford says this not usual for this to happen and they would be glad to sell new rotors.
Is there after market rotors that would give better performance that the EOM?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Martin

They want to sell you new rotors because they are $300 each. There are other aftermarket ones out there just not sure of what or where.

Same problem on '06 2WD

My low-mileage '06 has had the "wobbles" for a while. I had the dealership turn all of the rotors during the 30K service. They planed the pads because there was lots of pad surface left. It's been about six weeks and the "wobbles" are back. I'm in the same situation of needing to fix the truck, while trying to be sure to get parts that will last and not warp in the near future. Oh yeah, OEM=Dust!

There are plenty of posts on this forum that address this problem as well as recommendations for replacement parts. I'm OK with spending the money on upgraded rotors/pads, but haven't decided on what brand.

You can start w/ rockauto.com

From what I'm hearing, stay away from the local Chinese parts suppliers.

Best of luck,

Al

Don't forget to look at your calipers. These have a habit of sticking and can easily warp a rotor. And if it has been turned it will make it warp that much quicker.

I had the same issues on my 07. 18K, 29K, & 41K. I talked to dealership & they aggreed it wasn't normal. I paid for new pads & their labor. They bought the rotors. Just a thought. Maybe you can ask for something simular.

Warped

I've tried it the dealership's way. I'm probably going to try the 4x2 hub mod anyway... if anyone still has the kits in stock. I'll be sure to check the calipers for dragging.

Martin, have you decided what direction you're going?

I bought Raybestos replacements at 41,000 miles due to a bad bearing. Had to have them in a hurry, so got them at a local parts store. I have about 64,000 on them with no problem at all.

If you are talking about the 2 piece as a replacement for the one piece rotors on a 4x2, Centric makes a kit.

Not that I know of. It is their product and there are others selling it. I think I saw that they were waiting on a shipment from China, maybe.
