How to tell if I have 4-wheel ABS

'99 F150 4WD.

I realize the ABS sensor is buried inside the hub, but I don't see any wires or connections other than a brake line coming off the front wheels.

Here's a top-down view of the wheel (tire is a bottom of frame)

Would you say this truck is RABS only?

Thanks for any help.

Sure is! Thanks. I'm on it.

My ((ABS)) and BRAKE (!) lights are on. I replaced the sensor in the differential.
Brake fluid is ok. Brakes work fine. Disconnected the battery for about four minutes but lights came back on. Fuses are good.

I'm guessing the front wheels aren't part of the equation. Not sure where to look next with RABS system.

Any thoughts?

I am pretty sure on 97-03 RABS was standard for all options except the Lariates which came with 4-wheel ABS standard. However you could upgrade to 4-wheel ABS on other models. Your suggestion is possible.

Any thoughts?
In doing some reading, seems like others with your issue were able to track it back the RABS valve. Some had actual braking problems, were you do not, makes me think you should check the wiring harness at the valve and not the valve itself.

4 wheel ABS was a mid-year change to Ford's standard equipment in 1999.

The 1999 Chevy advertising was tearing Ford a new one with their standard 4wheel ABS comercials and Ford couldn't wait until 2000 to relent.

My MFG date says 4/99. That and a complete lack of wiring at the front wheels is enough to convince me I've got me one sweet RABS system. By "sweet" I of course mean "total junk". Nice try, Ford.

I'll have a look at the valve, thanks. Not so sure I'll spend the money on it though.

On 04-08 it calls out 35ft lbs. Not exactly sure for your year, but I suspect it should be close to that.
